The figure 8 can look complicated but can easily be mastered with a little practice. Once you get it, you’ll love it as you ride to the music in sync with the whole class.
Lift out of the seat and make sure you have medium tension on the bike, so your upper body is stable. Have your hands at the top of the handlebars and as you ride to the beat of the music, you’ll take your hips to all four corners of the bike – drawing an eight with your belly button. The count will be ‘back for two and forward for two’. Keep your core engaged and back lengthened at a 45-degree angle. Then just let the beat of the music do the rest!
